Michael McGee, PhD, is an associate professor in the Health Education Department at BMCC.  He has taught in the graduate program at the Center for Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University, and human sexuality and public health courses at Montclair State University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Before teaching full time, Dr. McGee was the executive director of the World Association for Sexual Health, and Vice President for Education at Planned Parenthood Federation of America.  His research interests are in the intersection of sexuality and media/popular culture.

This assignment asks students to consider the various influences their intersectional identities have had on their understanding of themselves. It explicitly asks students to consider their identity as an element of their gender and sexuality, and the manner in which they develop relationships.  The assignment invites reflection about their family and growing up, and where and how they learned about these things.
